Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Plotyst, a mobile iOS app for tracking movies, TV shows and anime with social features such as profiles, ratings, reviews, comments, lists, follows, Cine Club, Plot Twist and Spotlights.

By creating an account or using Plotyst, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

You must be old enough to use Plotyst under the minimum age shown in the App Store listing for Plotyst in your country or region, and under applicable law.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Plotyst only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for the information associated with your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Provide accurate information and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may delete your account from within the app. For step-by-step instructions, see Delete account. Plotyst may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users, rights holders or the service.

Plotyst has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Reviews, comments, lists, profile information and other material you submit must comply with these Terms.

The following content is prohibited:

• Hate speech, harassment, threats, bullying or content that targets people based on protected characteristics.
• Sexually explicit content or content intended to exploit or endanger minors.
• Spam, scams, misleading promotions or repetitive unsolicited content.
• Spoilers that are not clearly marked when spoiler warnings are expected in context.
• Illegal content or content that encourages unlawful activity.
• Content that infringes copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.

You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant Plotyst a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute that content within the service for as long as it remains available and as needed to operate Plotyst.

Plotyst provides in-app tools to report content and block other users. We review reports and aim to remove objectionable content within 24 hours. Users who post prohibited content may have content removed and may be suspended or permanently excluded from the service.

Plotyst Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold only through Apple In-App Purchase on iOS. Plotyst does not process payment card data for these purchases.

Available subscription options:

• Plotyst Pro Monthly — 1 month — €3.99 per month.
• Plotyst Pro Annual — 1 year — €29.99 per year.

During each paid period, Plotyst Pro provides: profile customization (banner, themes and avatar frames), advanced statistics, data export and an ad-free experience within the app.

Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the renewal price shown in the App Store at the time of renewal.

After purchase, you can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple account settings.

If a free trial is offered for Plotyst Pro, any unused portion of that trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Plotyst does not receive or store your full payment card details. Refund requests for Apple In-App Purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl or harvest data from Plotyst except through documented interfaces we make available.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law allows it.
• Circumvent technical limits, access controls, rate limits or security measures.
• Use bots, scripts or other automated means to access or interact with the service without our permission.
• Interfere with the normal operation of Plotyst or impose an unreasonable load on our systems.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Movie and TV metadata, titles, descriptions and artwork displayed in Plotyst come from third-party sources, including TMDB, and remain the property of their respective rights holders. Plotyst does not stream, host or distribute video content.

The Plotyst name, branding, design, software and other materials made available by Plotyst are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights needed to use the service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

Plotyst is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, content or the service at any time.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plotyst is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or France, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content, unless you asked for immediate performance before the withdrawal period ended and acknowledged that you would lose that right once performance began.

Mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence remain unaffected.

These Terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence where they apply.

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, the courts of France have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes may be communicated through the app or website, and the Last updated date will change. Continued use of Plotyst after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
